The Battery Show North America 2026: Exhibitor and Floor Guide
Pass prices, workshops, pavilions and how to specify a modular battery system before you arrive in Detroit.
Over 1,300 suppliers take stands at The Battery Show North America 2026, held at Huntington Place, Detroit, from 12 to 15 October. The organiser publishes and continuously updates the official exhibitor directory. This guide covers what a pass costs, how the floor is laid out, which workshops and pavilions are worth your time, and how to specify a modular battery system before you get there.
How many exhibitors are at The Battery Show North America 2026?
Over 1,300 suppliers exhibit, drawing more than 16,000 visitors. The official exhibitor directory is run by the organiser and updated as companies confirm, so it repays a second look in the fortnight before the doors open.
The exhibitor mix runs the length of the supply chain rather than concentrating in one place. Materials suppliers sit alongside cell makers, system and pack builders, equipment manufacturers, test houses and recyclers.
What does it cost to attend The Battery Show North America 2026?
Registration runs in four windows with prices stepping up at each stage. The Standard window closes on 9 October, after which Onsite rates apply.

The Explorer Pass is the standard expo ticket: three days on the floor plus the tech theaters, the New Product Showcase and evening networking. Explorer Plus adds a hospitality lounge with a professional headshot, a curated floor tour with limited places, a conference keynote on day three, and its own badge collection desk.
Conference tickets include session slides and complimentary networking breakfast and lunch. Watch the Non-Exhibiting Supplier fee: at $399 flat in every window, it applies to anyone attending to sell rather than to buy, no matter how early they book.
Group bookings discount automatically — 10% for three to five, 20% for six to nine, 25% for ten or more. Academic and government rates come direct from the organiser. The official passes and pricing page has the full detail.
What's on the expo floor?
The expo takes Level 2 of Huntington Place and spans the whole supply chain. Five groupings make it easier to navigate than treating it as one hall:
How the floor breaks down
- Materials and cell components — cathode and anode materials, electrolytes, separators and foils
- Cells, packs and systems — cell makers, modular system builders, pack assemblers and battery management
- Production and assembly equipment — mixing, coating, formation, welding and automation
- Test, measurement and validation — cyclers, imaging, thermal and safety testing
- Downstream systems — EV powertrains, thermal management, charging infrastructure, stationary storage and recycling
If you are specifying a battery system rather than buying equipment, the second group is where your time goes — and it is the group most worth filtering in the directory before you travel.
Which pavilions and zones are at the show?
Four pavilion themes are confirmed for 2026: battery recycling, lead battery technology, a UK pavilion and a German pavilion. The German pavilion carries 34 exhibitors under the German Foreign Trade Fair Participation Programme, coordinated by Landesmesse Stuttgart.
Pavilions group related or regional suppliers together, which makes them an efficient way to compare several vendors in one stop instead of criss-crossing the hall.
New for 2026 is the BATT to the Future Zone: nine hand-picked exhibits of emerging battery technology, with daily receptions — morning coffee and pastries, midday popcorn socials, cocktails at close — plus scavenger hunts and giveaways.
What workshops run on day one?
Six three-hour workshops fill Monday 12 October, before the expo opens. They are available as a standalone pass or as an add-on to any conference ticket:

Two events run alongside the main programme: the Executive Summit, a closed-door day for C-suite attendees on Thursday 15 October, and the Battery Awards ceremony on Tuesday 13 October.
What education is free with an expo pass?
Three floor programmes run through the week, with different access rules.
The Open Tech Forum sits at the centre of the expo and is open to Explorer Pass holders without a badge upgrade. Confirmed 2026 topics include all-solid versus semi-solid lithium-ion, silicon AAM and mid-nickel NMC for heavy-duty use, zero-flame-out safety design, sodium-ion for grid storage, market forecasts covering AI datacentre demand, the 400V to 800V transition, and AI-driven imaging in manufacturing.
The New Product Showcase runs 15-minute live demos at exhibitor stands, with participating companies still to be announced. The Battery Tech Theater hosts sponsor-led technical sessions on the floor, schedule pending.
What networking runs alongside the show?

How do you specify a modular battery system before the show?
With 1,300 stands and three days of expo, the difference between a productive show and an exhausting one is the preparation. These are the points worth settling beforehand — and worth putting to any supplier you visit.
Before you travel
- Duty cycle first — how the equipment is actually used, not its peak rating. Voltage, capacity, discharge profile and cycles per day all follow from it
- Modular or bespoke — can a standard modular system be configured to fit, or does the platform genuinely need a custom design? The answer changes cost and lead time substantially
- Mechanical integration — envelope, mounting, weight distribution, ingress protection and the operating temperature range in the real environment
- Battery management — protection against overcharge, over-temperature and under-voltage, plus the communication protocol your vehicle or machine controller expects
- Charging — is the charger specified alongside the pack, or assumed? Mismatched charging is a common cause of disappointing field performance
- Certification and transport — which approvals the target market requires, and how the systems ship
- Prototype to production — how quickly a prototype can be turned around, and whether the supplier can scale with your volumes
- After deployment — warranty terms, support and the supplier’s role once systems are in the field
A supplier who engages properly with the duty cycle and the route to volume is usually a better long-term partner than one competing on unit price alone.
